Treasured Memories

Your quilt will look so very different to my Vintage Vibe as your fabrics will be from your treasured scraps that you have been collecting. Treasured Memories uses a Matilda’s Own diamond template, or you choose your preferred simple shape from diamonds, triangles, squares or even hexagons. Come along with lots of cut shapes and design your quilt and begin sewing units. Vintage Vibe was created in ‘units’ using 1950s-1990s fabrics & the indigo strips contain the overall busyness of this quilt. The print fabric in Diamonds on the Go was once a cotton summer dress that I loved and could not pass on to the op-shop. Diamonds on the Go is a medallion style.

9 Patch – Design as you go 

Pink Chocolate is a Puss in Corner 9 patch and is arranged on point, that all began with the border fabric in an unusual brown/burgundy fabric. Basically, bring some ‘stand-out in a crowd’ fabric and coordinating fabrics for the 9 patches, layout can be strippy, alternate block, on point, medallion, etc. If you have some orphan 9 patches bring them as the start of your new quilt. Size will be up to you. 

Desert Blooms is a strippy design that was made simply because I found that amazing cactus fabric and simply made with 9 patches on point. Length was limited by the fabric I had.

The class will get you going on a journey as the instructions will offer you lots of layout ideas. The size of the quilt is absolutely up to you!
